Author Spotlight – Camryn Rhys

To celebrate the release of Gaines and Losses as a part of Decadent Publishing’s Western Escape line, Camryn Rhys is skipping on over to the Cheeky Side!

Who would play you in your telemovie?

Melissa McCarthy – she’s plus-size and cute, and hilarious to boot. Plus, my first experience of her was as a chef, so that holds, too.

I love her! Who would play your (real or imagined) significant other?

Steve Zahn, easily. But with lots of facial hair. Real boyfriend, although I do occasionally have fantasies about Steve Zahn, too…

What are two words that you would/wouldn’t use to describe you?

Would: Talkative, Zany      Wouldn’t: Waifish, Wallflowerish

You wake up in the body of the opposite sex. What’s the first thing you do?

Get a job. It would be nice to get paid what I’m worth for once…

Best pickup line, you’ve had used on you, used yourself or for a character?

Generally, lines don’t work on me. But that’s mostly because I’ve heard them all (or written them all). As far as the best line a character has ever used, I’d have to think about that one, but it would probably have come out of Paul Gaines’ mouth (from my most recent release, GAINES & LOSSES). He is a smooth talker.

If you could be any character in a book, which would it be? Why?

I know this is a gamble, but I would love to be a character in Game of Thrones. Assuming I didn’t die, that would be killer.

That’s a brave choice LOL! If you could live in a story for one day, which would it be? Why?

It would have been great to know Buffy Summers when she was the only Slayer. I’m pretty sure I would have been vamp fodder, but it would be the fangy end of a good day. Plus, maybe I could come back as her nemesis…

World’s sexiest man past or present according to you?

Richard Armitage. If you ever get a chance to see him in North & South, you will completely agree with me. And also be his obsessed fan. For. Ev. Er.

That is definitely on my ‘To Watch List’ :). If you could meet one author living or dead, who would it be?

T.S. Eliot. The man is flat brilliant, and his writing has the kind of depth that most people can only dream of. I would love to spend some time just hearing about his life and what inspired him. Plus, I’ve got some questions about his first wife that I’d love to have answered…

Must have thing when writing?

Coffitivity. More specifically, I used to spend so much time at coffee houses, just trying to get the little boost of ambient noise that you can now get for free on the internet. Life is beautiful.

How cool! Thanks for stopping by Camryn!

Sylvie Proulx has a very proper, professional life, where every second is scheduled and mouthful of food carefully documented and exercised away. But a woman has needs. So she discreetly requests a 1NS date from Madame Eve, only to be paired with a free-spirited cowboy from Freewill, Wyoming with a thing for steak.

Paul Gaines needs a sponsor for the national rodeo circuit and travels back to Vegas to seek out a meeting. He needs a date to the fancy party, and calls on a dating service he’s known for a long time, expecting a night of fun and companionship. But the more he discovers about Sylvie, the more he wants to cover her in creme brûlée and teach her how to ride a horse.

Only Sylvie has very careful boundaries, and Paul only has one night to convince her to give him a tomorrow.

Author Spotlight – Cate Masters

Today I have Cate Masters walking on the Cheeky Side! She has an exciting new release, Cursed, as a part of the new Tease line from Decadent Publishing.

Who would play you in your telemovie?

First, thanks for having me on your lovely blog, Bianca. 🙂

Hm, I’m used to putting stars’ faces on my characters, but not on me! I have a fun series on my blog called Casting Call. You can check it out here:

Maybe Diane Keaton – she’s usually a little ditzy but fun, basically intelligent and caring. Wish I were as slim as her though!

Thanks for being here! Who would play your (real or imagined) significant other?

Nick Nolte. I didn’t need to think about that one, lol. People have told him (mostly when we were younger) that he was a dead ringer.

What are two words that you would use to describe you?

Funny, though my humor can run toward wry or black

Persistent (a must if you’re going to follow your dream!)

You wake up in the body of the opposite sex. What’s the first thing you do?

If I’m anything like my hubby, I head for the bathroom, lol. Then I check to see whether we’ve switched bodies. No matter, I’d still love him.

Best pickup line, you’ve had used on you, used yourself or for a character?

I loved the line Harry said to Sally that fateful New Year’s Eve: “I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”

If you could be any character in a book, which would it be? Why?

I have such a terrible time choosing favorites of anything. I fall in love with too many books. 🙂  But I recently discovered Kelley

Armstrong’s Women of the Otherworld series. I’d be any of those women — they’re all feisty, powerful, smart, sexy and they get the hot heroes, lol

If you could live in a story for one day, which would it be? Why?

Again, I think I’d go with Kelley Armstrong – Dime Store Magic. Witches and warlocks and magic and adventure!

Only one? No fair. What happened to variety is the spice of life? Okay, if I have to choose just one…my hubby. When I was young, my definition of sexy was a hot wild thing. I married him, lol. Then I saw him with each new baby we had, and he melted my heart all over again. He’s stuck with me through great times and awful times. Now he encourages me to keep writing, keep doing what I love, and he’s so patient and loving with our grandboys, and it’s beyond sexy. After 36 years, he still melts my heart.

Awww…I just love that answer :). If you could meet one author living or dead, who would it be?

J.R. Ward. I’d love to get inside her head, lol

Must have thing when writing?

Hot black tea. Keep it comin’. 🙂

Fantastic! Another tea lover! Thanks for taking a walk with me today Cate. Check out Cate’s new release – Cursed – and hurry to enter the giveaway, time’s running out!

Ten days of freedom. That’s all Fate had allotted me each year. In the streets of Venice, I could walk among them. Mingle. Belong.

During Carnevale, they had no idea who I was. What I was.

For ten days, it didn’t matter.

Until I met her.

Bruno diCesare lives alone by necessity, not choice. An experiment performed by Leonardo da Vinci, who believed having a dual DNA would grant a person immortality, used magic to render Bruno a chimera – the head of a lion, body of a dragon. The only time he can mingle with people is during Carnevale, ten glorious days of masked anonymity, frivolity and intimacy.

Melina Weaver learned fire dancing to enliven her dull existence. A scientist, her long hours at the lab leave no time for a social life. For ten days at Carnevale, she can pretend to be someone else. Someone sexy and daring, who lives on the edge.

Once she meets Bruno, her wish comes true, but everything goes terribly wrong. Beneath Bruno’s costume lurks an alpha male, but is he dangerous? Worse, can she return to an employer who sells her research to the military to make an army of efficient killers? Her only hope may lie with the man she’s just met and never seen.

Melina should have stayed in her room. Finding him had seemed like such incredible luck. Now she wondered whether luck had turned against her.

That sound—almost an animal sound—had that come from him? Had she imagined it? Strange things went on during Carnevale, her online friends had said, some so inexplicable no science could explain them. She’d laughed when they warned her she might get in over her head.

The sheer strength of his muscles, the raw power beneath his clothes, thrilled her. His pace conveyed the same urgency.

Pressed to his side, nerves jangling, her foot slipped on the stone step.

In one fluid motion, he scooped her into his arms and continued hurrying along. “Are you all right?”

“Unless embarrassment leaves a mortal wound. I’m normally not so clumsy.” She settled against his broad chest. Such incredible stamina. An image pierced her mind: his muscular, naked torso above her, his hips rocking against hers. His presence overwhelmed her, and she was acutely aware of every motion, every breath.

At the bottom of the stone stairs, he set her on her feet but maintained his firm hold. “Dampness has a habit of lingering here. You’d best allow me to assist you.”

“Please.” She fitted herself against him, acutely aware of the way his body moved against hers.

“In these calle of San Samuele,” he said, “Giacomo Casanova spent his youth.”

“Calle?” She should have brushed up on her Italian.

He dipped his head closer. “Narrow alleyways.”

“Narrow and dark. I wonder how many trysts Casanova had in these alleys?” And Casanova had nothing on Bruno. Women probably flocked around him constantly. Acid flashed through her at the thought.

“Too many to recount.” He paused, then added, “If one believes the writings in his diary. His mentor, the poet Giorgio Baffe, lived just down there.”

“Mentor?” She didn’t recall Casanova writing poetry. Did Bruno as well? Or was he not romantic that way?

“Of a sort. The man who introduced Casanova to worldly pleasures.”

The way the last two words rolled off his tongue, so enticing. She glanced at the dark steps that led to deeper shadows beside the canal.

She surprised herself by steering him down there, tugging him to an abrupt halt. “Do such mentors still exist?”

He whirled her against a wall. “Why? Would you be interested?”

She let her hands wander across the contours of his chest. “You did offer to introduce me to the delights of Venice.”

The same growl as earlier rumbled in his throat, unmistakable this time.“You do like to play with fire, don’t you?”

And he knew how to ignite one.

Author Spotlight – Eden Summers

Today I have Eden Summers walking on the Cheeky Side with me and she has exciting news! Blind Attraction is now available! In it we meet (and fall in lust with) Reckless Beat and if you love a bit of rock with your rockin’ this is the story for you!

So Eden, who would play you in your telemovie?

Blind Attraction_400

Hmm, I kinda have a thing for Emilia Clarke. Not that I look anything like her, but she’s smokin’ hot, so it would be very…entertaining to watch. I’ve been told I look like the chick in this commercial though (unfortunately, by more than one person) so maybe she would be better –

Who would play your significant other?

Oh! Can we make this a ménage? I’d want Raffaello Balzo and Jason Momoa. Yummo. I’d love to be the meat in their sandwich any day.

What are two words that you would/wouldn’t use to describe you?

Would – stressaholic, unhinged.
Wouldn’t – Patient, disrespectful.

You wake up in the body of the opposite sex. What’s the first thing you do?

LMFAO. The first thing…and the ONLY thing I would do – ALL DAY LONG, would be to determine how the lovely piece of man-flesh between my legs works. I’d be a typical guy and play with myself all day.

Best pickup line, you’ve had used on you, used yourself or for a character?

My husband’s pick up line was ‘I knew you’d be hot when you were older.’

If you could be any character in a book, which would it be? Why?

At the moment, Alana from Blind Attraction. She gets to spend her time with Mitchell Davies, the sexy lead guitarist from Reckless Beat. I am already envious of her.

If you could live in a story for one day, which would it be? Why?

Hmm, there is a certain shower scene in Concealed Desire that I would love to have lived through…maybe that day. Or…one from my current WIP – Passionate Addiction. The hero and heroine have spoken online for years, become best friends and finally meet. That day is kinda special to me at the moment.

World’s sexiest man according to you?

Apart from my husband – of course, it would probably be Raffaello Balzo. I love that guy. I’m also smitten with Jason Momoa.

If you could meet one author living or dead, who would it be?

I can’t answer this one. There are way too many. Kresley Cole, Gena Showalter, Cindy Gerard, J.R. Ward…the list is very long.

Must have thing when writing?

Peace and quiet. My mind is so loud, crazy and stressful 99% of the time, that when I sit down to write, I need it to be relaxing, without any disturbance.

He can seduce with a single glance.

Peering down at a sea of fans, rock star, Mitchell Davies can’t deny the innocent beauty of a woman in the front row. He’ll stop at nothing to get to know her. When a public altercation leaves her weak and defenseless, he takes the opportunity to be her savior.

She’s been sheltered from the world.

Alana Shelton wants to spread her wings and experience life away from her restrictive upbringing. But she isn’t prepared for a gorgeous stranger to sweep her off her feet while at her most vulnerable.

Attraction will bring them together, but their pasts will try to tear them apart.

He wants to teach her how to trust, but she’ll show him how to love. In a glamorous world of rock-and-roll, only time will tell if they’re up for the challenge.
